Rosy Salazar's Profile

About

Crafty Rosy started around 25 years ago in a small bakery in a small town in Mexico, my mother's creative spirit had no boundaries, and I guess I picked up on most of it, I loved seeing all these neat decorations she was able to put together with her hands. Little by little I started my own creations, everything from royal icing to fondant, pastillage, gum paste and butter cream and sometimes marzipan or clay.

But life had plans for me that I also wanted to explore. I got an apprentice diploma as a Graphics Designer, then I went on and graduated as a Computer Engineer went on and felt happy for about 10 years, I had always had this thing for quality so that is what my main focus was in my IT career.

While all of this was happening I was also raising 2 wonderful kids, trying to juggle a family and a lot of commuting.

3 Years ago life had another surprise: my son Christopher joined our family, and now, all of the sudden all my priorities change, I was not able to see myself leaving him to sit in traffic for hours and hours, and I was not seeing any quality in my life any more so thanks to my also wonderful and supporting husband, we made the decision to restructure our lives so I could become a stay at home mom, and be able to raise Christopher and support my now teenage boys through high school.

So I think that all this combination and me not staying still one single moment, brought me back to where I am right now, back to the basics, back to my creative spot, back home.

With my little spot in this world of chaos, I want to invite you to take a look at all my pieces and go back to your childhood, where everything was fun and games and where everything was made out of candy and, where your dreams were not impossible but a daily part of life.
