About

About me...hmmmm....what can I say? I've been dabbling in art my entire life. It all started with drawing people when I was a little child...my Mom told me my people needed to have noses on them!

I would conclude that I inherited the ability to draw and paint from my artist Grandmother. I have a vivid memory of a realistic dogwood tree branch she had painted on the wall above her tiled bathroom tub. She also had a huge garden of roses and flowers in her little back yard which fueled her creativity as she often would show me drawings of roses and such. I was always mesmerized by that garden myself! She also had the longest (or so it seemed as a little child) row of lily of the valleys along the side of her house. She even let me pick them! Oh, such a sweet memory!

I had originally planned on being an art teacher and completed three years of college, but my life took a different direction and I got married. I got a job at Louisville Stoneware (art dept.) and worked there nearly four years until my first child was born. Then I became a 'stay at home' Mom and only worked there seasonally. Eventually I stopped working there but never stopped having a creative outlet somewhere! Other artistic areas I've worked in are: floral arranging, jewelry making, jar painting, wall murals, set props(plays), newsletter covers, paintings/drawings (portrait + more), gourd creations(painted, carved, woven & more).

As you can readily see if you've visited my shop "CurlyButterfly" my present creative outlet is making wire wrapped jewelry and selling beautiful supplies. I enjoy it so much!

Thank you for visiting my shop and reading 'about me'. God Bless!
