About

First and foremost, I'm a doll collector although the fashions are what really interest me. I was a huge Barbie fan as a child and kept my childhood collection until I rediscovered Barbie in 1991. Since then, I have accumulated a vintage doll collection including almost everything made by Mattel from 1959 to 1973. I also have a small collection of vintage Madame Alexanders, Ginny's and Betsy McCall's and have recently become interested in Barbie's precursor -a German doll called Bild Lilli.

In 2009, I attended Barbie's 50th Anniversary Convention in Washington DC and was motivated to sew some Barbie outfits for table gifts. That was the beginning of an entire new direction for me. .

This year's Convention was in Los Angeles, California and the theme was Barbie on Tour. What a great time we had travelling with Barbie to Paris, Rome and London and we received fashions from each City. I attend the first Ken Convention in Chicago in September and I'm busy sewing amazing clothes for Ken.

My passion is sewing for Barbie. I make reproductions of rare and hard to find Barbie outfits and of course often dive off into some of my unique creations. I have discovered a new world of fabric, buttons, trim, ribbon and patterns.
I know that Etsy will be a wonderful venue to share my creative energy.
