I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Florida. While majoring in drawing I was introduced to ceramics and fell in love with clay! After graduating I continued to work with clay where ever I could find studios, schools and teachers. While my first infatuation was with handbuilding, I have gradually increased my skills on the wheel, so that I primarily do wheel work and sometimes add handbuilt additions to it.

I now mostly do pottery but a few years ago I started making some basket shapes which cried out for something more! I slowly taught myself beading skills which could be incorporated into a 3D semi-functional object. As any beader knows, it became addictive and I now make a whole line of woven bead (off-loom) jewelry.

I dabble in a lot of media and I'm always trying to tie them all together in some cohesive fashion. I'm also a quilter and involved in a lot of mixed-media projects incorporating fabrics, papers and beads.

I show my work at three shops locally and I frequently switch things around to find the best venue for each genre. I try to keep a good mixture of my embellished ceramic pieces and functional work in my shop at any one time. I'm always adding new pieces, trying new glazes and switching things around so check back often to see what's new and exciting!

On a personal level: I am married to an extremely cool (not nerdy!) transportation engineer and I have two fabulous, intelligent and talented teenage daughters!
