A. Laura Brody makes and designs costumes. You’ve seen what she’s made for designer Michael Schmidt: the Lego bustier for Fergie and the LMFAO gladiator outfits for the Superbowl 46 halftime show.
She also creates re-purposed functional art. Her Edwardian Cyborg electric wheelchair was published in 1000 Steampunk Creations. The chair and companion Steampunk walker will be published in Steampunk: A Complete Guide to Victorian Techno-Fetishism. And a piece created by Laura and her collaborator Morgan Culture is a finalist at the World of Wearable Art show in New Zealand.
Laura loves reusing and repurposing materials. Growing up in Alaska, it was a matter of pride to make what you needed out of what was available. Her own work is made of at least 75% reused materials. She hasn’t fou...
