Welcome to BlumeBloom!
BlumeBloom, is a collaboration of both German and English. die Blume is German for flower and of course Bloom is also flower. My wonderful boyfriend is German, and I am slowly learning the language. This is my way of adding more German to my everyday life.

Now a little about me. I have been in flower shops longer than I can remember. My mom, who is a wonderful designer, taught me everything I know. She opened a fantastic shop in Texas 17 years ago and I began working there at about the age of 15.

Flowers quickly became my first love. Flowers have also been the means for my second love, travel! At 19, I studied floral design at Paula Pryke Flower School, in London England. I was easily the youngest student there and benefited greatly from the classic English floral tradition...

After studying I went back to Texas, but had a really hard time sitting still. So a year later, back to London I went...This time for work. I spent almost a year working in a small flower shop in the Borough Market area. On Fridays and Saturdays, we sold flowers in the market. I felt just like Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. While working at this shop I also got to design arrangements for one of the national news programs, that was filmed just around the corner.

Eventually my visa ran out, so back home for me. However, that was ok--because when I returned to Texas, my mother and I opened our second floral design location! During this time, I had a great opportunity to design floral arrangements for an issue of Better Homes and Gardens.

Since then my love for flowers and travel has not lessened. I spent 6 months in Thailand, teaching a bit, but mostly soaking in the beautiful nature of Thailand. I have also traveled to numerous places in both Europe, Mexico, and Thailand. As you can see, I am hooked on travel!

Life has now brought me to sunny Southern California. Here, I have decided to start my own small business, die Blume! So, Welcome!. Feel free to browse the store and anything you need i am more than happy to help with, just let me know.

Thank you so much!
