My name came to be as a result of a "design-a-logo-out-of-your-initials" challenge at school. I wrote down my initials, thought "hmmmm, well that S looks like a 5 and Z could easily be a 2"... to my surprise I won the challenge hands down! Now that I've married that tosses a cute story out the window though as I then have to explain why I haven't reinvented myself as "fivetwentysix"...

Wow, long and boring introduction, right? How about a little more relevant information about me: my name is Shawna and I am an amateur photographer and craft girl extraordinaire. My love for photography stems from my grandfather, who spent hours patiently waiting in order to capture just the right moment. His love of film and nature has spilled down not only to his children, but his grandchildren as well, and I am happy to be a part of that creative crowd.

Another outlet (thanks to my grandmother) has been a variety of crafts...I have spent years creating (and giving away) my own designs and my fingers itch to play with fabrics, yarns and found trinkets... any time away from crafting has me going through serious withdrawal. Cross stitch, knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, painting, beading.... I am a girl who dabbles in many areas, and am always on the lookout for something new to play with. My husband and I recently moved into a place that allows me half of an office to turn into a crafting space (thank you honey for being so understanding as my "half" has slowly become more of a two-thirds!) Look for homemade crafts to start making their way into my other shop, fiftytwocrafts, as more and more of my supplies are unboxed...
