I came up with the idea for Skein Snake when mulling over linen yarn. I was thinking about how hard linen yarn is on the hands. One of the things you always hear about linen yarn is that it improves with washing and wearing. I got a spark of inspiration, quickly sewed the first Skein Snake in history.

I zipped the linen yarn into the Skein Snake, crossed my fingers and sent it through the washer and dryer. Presto - yarn was softer, already treated for washer and dryer use and I would enjoy working with it and get an accurate swatch.

Then I tried it with some recycled yarn. What a difference. It was 50% wool, 50% nylon. It fluffed up beautifully in the washer and dryer.

Knit Stitch Graph Products are a collaboration between my husband and myself. I complained to him that graph paper did not reflect the shape of the final product as knit stitches were not square. He fiddled with the problem for a while and presented me with the finished product. I am delighted with the results and hope that you will be as well.

My knitting patterns are created in every moment of my life. A pad of paper by the side of the bed is necessary, or I might lose an idea! I work the patterns out while watching Korean dramas online.
