Tamar Goguadze's Profile
Tamar Goguadze is an artist from Georgia (former Soviet Union). Her enamelling technique is unique for its tendency to combine the elements of two differnt techniques.The inspiration drawn from medieval Georgian examples of cloisonne enamelled works is combined with the western tradition of cold enameling as well as antique jewellery designs. The use of cold enamelling also permits the use of natural mineral pigments like lapis lazuli, malachite, and other natural colourants that is not possible for fired enamel technique. Cold enamelling also allows work on any base metal and even wooden object like keyrings, boxes, mirror-cases etc.
