About

Our family lives a simple life in the "back woods" of Canada. I am a wife to a wonderful man, and mother of 9 beautifully unique beings, who enrich my life and inspire me every day. I was raised in a big close knit family, and loved it. My mother and I work together to make the beautiful items you find in the shop.

My biggest passion now is creating all natural Waldorf inspired dolls that I've called "luvkins". There is something quite magical about creating these little dollies. The high point is at the time when I sew his or her little face on. All of a sudden he or she has a personality. They are all absolutely unique, so it is a lot fun dreaming up the colour and texture combinations...yes it keeps me awake some nights! My mother, who sews much of the clothing, instilled a deep love for creating things from a very early age. She started me into sewing and knitting at around 6 years old. It was definitely her that inspired this crazy crafting obsession of mine! And I am eternally grateful. It is such a satisfying experience, taking a ball of yarn or piece of fabric and transforming it.

I am a huge fan of "upcycling", of using what is already in existence and contributing to the landfills as little as possible. For example, I LOVE to use felted wool sweaters to create clothing, cute little critters, and dolly accessories.
