Recently, a customer of mine (a new 'wet shaving' fan) asked if I could design a shaving mug for him. The result of our collaboration was the prototype for this lovely shaving mug. You can read all about the process of creating the mug here:

I threw this shaving mug on the wheel from white stoneware and added groves on the inside to help the brush infuse air into the lather. I decorated the mug with a mustache-adorned medallion (I carved the mustache stamp myself) and added a handle which can also be used to store a shaving brush. The mug is glazed in a semi-matte brown glaze. The foot-ring is unglazed. The bottom of the mug is stamped with my studio logo (Rincon Pottery) and my maker's mark ('M' for Miri).

I mix all my glazes from scratch, so I know exactly what is in them! The glazes I use are food safe and do not include lead or other toxic materials. If you so desired, this shaving mug can be safely put in the microwave and dishwasher.

PLEASE NOTE: The handle was designed to store a Van Der Hagen Boar Bristle Brush (pictured, but not included). You can also just lay your brush across the handle if you prefer.

The shave mug pictured is the ACTUAL mug you will get! I do not use stock photos.

This Jackson's chameleon skull pendant is made from a real lizard skull that passed of natural causes. The skull measures 1-3/4" long and is cast in solid white bronze, oxidized in the recesses to enhance the natural details of the original. It almost looks like a miniature dinosaur skull, just look at those ribbed horns. This unique piece is mounted on a contrasting black gunmetal 24" chain .

Jackson's Chameleons are native to the humid, cooler regions of Kenya and Tanzania, East Africa, found in great numbers at altitudes over 3,000 m. The subspecies xantholophus was introduced to Hawaii in the 1970s and has since established populations on all main islands. This population was the primary source of Jackson's Chameleons for the exotic pet trade. However, the exportation of these animals (and many others) from Hawaii for the pet trade has been made illegal to prevent opportunists from willfully establishing further feral animal populations in order to capture and sell them.

The colors of the desert come together beautifully in this striking vintage Navajo ring. A decadent border of sterling silver with a leaf/feather detail highlights these luscious orbs of turquoise and red coral and measures over 1 1/8" top to bottom and just over 5/8" side to side.

The ring band measures a size 6.5.

Exact dates of production are not known, but this piece comes from a small collection of vintage Navajo jewelry approximately 30-50 years old and is in very good vintage condition.
