My name is Angie Johnson, I've been sewing for as long as I can remember. I first learned my mad sewing skills first from my mom and then through a bachelors degree in Clothing and Textiles from the University of Manitoba. I also seem to have acquired some shocking pack rat skills from my grandma.

Prior to starting Norwegian Wood I worked in the mainstream fashion industry for 8 years as an assistant designer and then head designer for various companies. I have now escaped and work on Norwegian Wood full time.

Many people ask me where the name Norwegian Wood comes from. Well, I'm part Norwegian (via my paternal grandpa) and I really love the Beatles song and Murakami book of the same name. Both the song and book are a bit dark, a bit mysterious, slightly nostalgic and very real.
