Hi.
I have been involved in the Swing and Rock'n'Roll dance scene ( country Victoria, Australia ) for 9 years - although I just love Balboa. I have been making my own ( and my husband's ) dance outfits, plus my 40s and 50s style clothing,during this time. It was impossible to find anything locally.
From humble beginnings I was asked more amd more often to make dresses for others.
I now sew all day, every day, trying to make the best quality dresses / outfits based on original 40s and 50s patterns ( I have accumulated quite a few!). I source quality fabric from Australia and overseas and guarantee customer satisfaction.
I post dresses all over the world and have a lot of repeat business and loyal customers.
Because not everyone has a body shape the same as a pattern, I will make up a dress to specific measurements as well as offer free alterations if the fit is not perfect - provided you give me the correct measurements.

My sewing background does go back further than 9 years. I have always sewed - even as a child and then into my teenage years. Some of the clothing I made and wore was definitely "stand out in the crowd" clothing.
When my children were young I made and retailed children's clothing, specifically appliqued work featuring Australian native animals, plants and Teddy Bears.
My children sew - one in particular who is now doing millinery. I hope she will list some of her hats on Etsy soon.
I am a classic Libran female ( such a burden to bear, striving for perfection, but the customer certainly benefits. So too is the daughter who sews ).
I am also a "year of the Dragon".
