My paintings often feature a creative vision of architecture or natural landscape in a surreal interpretation. My background in architecture and my travel experiences are strong influences in my work. I mostly paint in oil and am self-taught in this medium.

I grew up in the Chicago area, then earned a masters degree in architecture from the University of Illinois, where I learned perspective drawing and 3-dimensional design. After graduation I moved to the West and lived in Portland, Oregon, The San Francisco Bay Area, and Boise, Idaho over 8 years. The West gave me endless opportunities to explore inspiring landscapes, usually desolate, extreme and always visually exciting.
