Jess Wagstrom's Profile
I began crocheting in the late 90's. I remember watching my aunt work away, creating entire blankets from a single strand of yarn. She seemed pretty surprised when I asked her to teach me how to work that magic, but she handed me a hook, some spare yarn, and showed me a few basic stitches.
From there, I taught myself everything I could, gobbling up new patterns and techniques like a thing possessed. I've calmed down since, but still enjoy busting out the hook and creating something from nothing. It's only recently that I started stitching faces onto my creations; I crafted a smiling wedge of cheese as a prop for a video contest. Upon posting it to Facebook, I immediately received requests for more food with faces, and the rest is history!
"Chew Face" comes in part from my family, who have called me Chewy since I was four...
