Hi! I´m Aintzi the artist behind Knittingdreams.

Knitting dreams creatures are made using different kind of craft techniques I learnt researching and combining different styles as needle felting or crochet. Since my first attempts to design these creatures I have tried to get inspired by japanese crochetting style 'amigurumi'.  Amigurumi is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll. These amigurumi dolls are inspired by anime and japanese aesthetic characterized by disproportionate proportions -big heads and small bodies-.
Unlike classic amigurumis that are usually made following a pattern my creatures are not based on patterns so they are one of a kind, unique creations. I try to be very careful with every material I choose for my creatures in order to get the exact texture and appearance I'm looking for - I try to choose the perfect yarn or mohair and I sometimes made my own yarn balls combining different wools and threads. I think this is really important to get their furry look. All my little creatures come from the world of dreams, a place full of magic and good wishes.

All of my little creatures are made with love and care in a non-smoking home.
