About

I love creating and designing and always have, ever since I was little. I'm a graduate of Sheffield School of Interior Design and I love designing interiors as much as I love designing jewelry.

I'm a Leo, left handed, nature/outdoors/sunny day lover, huge animal lover and I'm like a kid in a candy store when I find a beautiful flea/antique shop to browse in. I sew, paint, refinish antique furniture, do florals, faux finishing and reupholstering just to name a few of the many crafts that I have worked in. I LOVE and live for color and texture and harmonizing elements to create something fantastic. Whether it's a piece of jewelry or a new room design. I thrive on the entire creative process.

I came to find jewelry design back in 2006 when I was working on completing my interior design courses. I have always needed to be working with my hands, creating something to be happy. Working on bookwork and assignments I was getting yantzy to do something new and creative in between my courses. I have always adored jewelry, (it's really kind of a sickness - I never seem to have enough)!! So I started looking into supplies for jewelry making and when I saw all of the gorgeous beads, and the variety of gemstones available, I nearly died with excitement! I couldn't wait to place an order and get started. That is when it all began. I fell completely and totally in love with jewelry design.

My passion is designing one of a kind artisan necklaces. I really enjoy just letting my creatiivity take over and designing something off the top of my head. I don't enjoy making multiples of any piece, and never mass produce the same design as it would overshadow what I love about making one of a kind artisan jewelry. My goal is to continue expanding my jewelry designs to offer lots of styles for the many different personalities of the women who visit my shop and to offer as much diversity in designs as possible.

When I decided that I wanted to start a jewelry line and was thinking about what I would call it, I thought of several ideas and then one day I took my first and middle initial and the first three letters of my maiden name, put them together and voila - LAISE Originals was born!

A little about my jewelry design process....

When I sit down to begin working on a piece of jewelry, I usually have no idea what it is going to look like when I am finished. I usually have no preconcieved ideas unless I have a special component that I've had for a while - just sitting there waiting for me to use it. In that case, I will think about it sometimes for weeks trying to decide how to use it to create something fabulous.

My design process involves spending hours on end searching out and choosing beautiful elements and beads to use. When I am ready to start a new piece I then go through my inventory pulling mutiple strands to decide what I am going to use in that piece of jewelry. After I have chosen the beads and elements then I begin to work on the design. Sometimes it will come together without a hitch and other times I may end up dumping all my work back onto the table and starting over several times before I find a design that is perfect. But when I finally finish it and I feel that it is perfect - that is my moment of satisfaction. The moment when I know that I've created another piece of jewelry that will hopefully be stunning and irresistable to that one special lady who must have it.

I have always been very grateful to God for the talents that he has blessed me with, and my biggest desire is not to waste them but to use them to the fullest extent to create beautiful things that will bring a smile to someone's face and make them feel like royalty each time they wear it.

I hope you will enjoy browsing my shop. If you have any questions at all, please contact me, I would love to hear from you!

With love and gratitude for your patronage -
Lori
