About
Hi, my name is Shona and I was born in Los Angeles, CA. I lived there for the first 26 years of my life and now live in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Most of my influences come from the ethnic neighborhoods and 1940's & 50's architecture in L.A. When I moved to the south I became interested in folklore and local legends.
Most of the printing is done on an 1890 platen tabletop press, I am working on getting the proof press re-assembled for larger prints. Book binding and all other work is done on the greatest dumpster diving find ever- a very large solid wood school table which required a little TLC and a new leg.
P.S. Because I often get asked, LALA is for Los Angeles (LALA land) and dex is for my big black fuzzy cat, Dexter, who enjoys lounging across my work table.
