I started this business to share what I have come to appreciate in vintage jewelry. At one time, I never bothered to wear jewelry or if I did it was a necklace or ring I could just throw on without any fuss or bother. My admiration started with helping my stepmother, Muffy, sort and organize her jewelry. Cherished and often poignant times were spent sharing memories of parties, teas, and travel for her, her mother and aunt from whom much of her jewelry was inherited. With this interest I began to research the designers and manufactures of her costume jewelry. I learned to truly appreciate that much of this vintage jewelry was reflective of the times in which they were created; from the exotic times prewar, the war years restrictions of materials, to the glamorous Fifties, flirty & fun times of the 60’s and 70’s. It feels odd to realize that much of my own adult life is now a part of “history”. Much of vintage jewelry is an example of art, creative design and in many cases very fine workmanship. While most costume jewelry was made with the intent of use for only a season or two, the designs are often classic and thus timeless. While only a small amount of this jewelry is from Muffy’s collection, I think that you will find that these pieces carry magic. Laura Bois
