I'm a part-time jeweler, New Yorker, lover of good books, horses, dogs, great food, traveling, drawing, shopping (and now selling) on Etsy! My shop is named Wandering Laur because I love to travel and explore, and the cultures and places that I discover around the world continue to influence the pieces that I create.
My inspiration comes from all over- the streets of New York, the beach where I grew up, the places I’ve visited and people I’ve met, glimpses of nature, saturated color, movement, and especially vintage pieces, which I love to deconstruct to create something simultaneously modern and a little nostalgic. I love taking bits of vintage chains and antique unloved beads that I’ve discovered, and putting them together in original ways to create something new and beautiful.
