Artist’s Statement

My name is Susan Effenberger and my work is dedicated to making Happy Art.

For thirty years I have balanced a commercial art career alongside my passion for creating fine art. This winter I experienced an entirely new threshold producing a fresh body of work. An epiphany opened my eyes to opportunities where I could merge my fine art with my latest round of commercial training, resulting in unique themes of vivid, intricate digital design.I found myself intertwining traditional botanical formats with my love for animals and gardening, added a dollop of whimsy, and a dash or two of humor, and ever since, I have happily been exploring uncharted territories.

The results are colorful positive images, evoking happy emotions from my audience. The best part is when people tell me they simply do not tire of repeatedly viewing one of my pieces. What a wonderful sense of accomplishment! Layering details and design with a bright palette fills me with strong desire to keep creating, communicating and sharing, eagerly refueling more long creative sessions with my digital canvases . . . and with stronger ideas, resolve, passion, and cheerfulness.
