About

Hi, Thanks for taking the time out to read a little bit about me. I'm a middle school special education teacher by day and I get to play "Ceramic Bead Artist" at night.

As of recently, I have teamed with my son Ben in our ceramic bead venture. He is doing the forms and I am glazing and firing. We take our time to create beads that will make your jewelry stand out from the rest.

I have been involved in some sort of creative works since elementary school. My opportunities for growth were somewhat limited since I’ve been busy as a special education resource teacher for 26 years and spent 23 of those years raising my three children. I have, however, been able to use some of my creativity within the classroom. And God knows that every ounce of my creativity went into surviving the teen years with my 2 sons and 1 daughter whom I love dearly...

And God knows that every ounce of my creativity went into surviving the teen years with my 2 sons and 1 daughter whom I love dearly. Those days are now in the past as they have each grown into responsible adults. I also am the proud "Nonnie" of three grandchildren, Lacey, Chloe and Benny.

After remarrying, I settled into my new home in the country with my husband, an artist his entire life http://splitfirepottery.etsy.com and also an art teacher, and our three dogs. I have been able to spend my free time creating again. My new creations began 5 years ago with making jewelry and grew into making beads because everything started looking the same to me and I wanted something different ;o)

I first started learning about bead making by using earthenware and firing in my little itty bitty kiln, but I’m now creating with mid-fire (2200 degrees) porcelain. Of course, since I’m now offering my beads for purchase, I’ve also graduated to a larger kiln. I love to experiment and I’m never content with the ordinary so there’s always something new. I love fashion and believe that keeping current is the way to go when it comes to bead and jewelry making.

Today, I am also part of another very new group called Love My Art Jewelry. Our motto is "Creating Handmade with Handmade." We have a group website: http://lovemyartjewelry.com and you can learn a little more about us by following our blog: http://lovemyartjewelry.blogspot.com

I also have my own blog: http://macarroll.blogspot.com and my own personal website where we will be offering custom orders on our most popular beads.
