Ahoy-hoy! Welcome to Magpie and Button. I've been creating jewellery for years now, but I set up this shop in 2009. It was really only an experiment, but it's been going so well I've kept it up and it's still growing today :)

Ever since playing happily with the contents of Granny's button box as a little girl, I've loved and collected all kinds of buttons. Now it's time to share some of them by making them into pretty little pieces of jewellery. Some of the buttons I use in these pieces are new, but more of them have already had a previous life on a jacket or dress from many years ago.

In my other life, I teach art at a Youthreach centre here in Cork, Ireland. I love my job, though I'm happiest when collecting beads and buttons! I've always liked putting interesting bits and pieces together to create something new.
