About

I have been involved in arts and crafts all my life. Living in the mountains, especially during winter, gives me plenty of time to work on crafts. I am often inspired by the beauty of Mother Nature that surrounds me. That's why many of my creations feature animals or leaves. Also, I am fascinated with Nevada's mining history, especially since I recently found out that my great-grandfather was an early Nevada miner. I guess that's where I get my love for turquoise and silver. I am semi-retired ( I teach part time at a local college) and I dreamed of having all this time to do crafts when I did retire. Right after I retired from teaching full time, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. It especially attacked the joints in my fingers, so I was pretty despondent when I found out.

However, I decided not to give into the disease, and I continue to bead and crochet to keep my fingers as nimble as possible. I did have to give up embroidering, but at least I can still do some of my crafts. It's rare that I'm not beading or crocheting. I live in the mountains with my husband, six rescued cats, an insane Border Collie, a brand new sassy quarter horse who hates to be caught, and a corn snake. I have two daughters in their twenties who are living their own lives.
I am a proud member of Etsy for Animals and Made in Vegas team, a group of local crafters who live in nearby Las Vegas. We are over 300 strong!!!
I donate a portion of my sales to animal charities, as animals are a very important part of my life.
Some of my jewelry has been sold at the Red Rock Canyon Recreation Area Gift Shop.
