Out of the Blue Jewelry is a fun, feminine and affordable line of vintage inspired jewelry created by designer Jerin Scott in her small, but much loved, home studio. With a degree in Accounting, Jerin spent the first 10 years after college in the hustle and bustle of Corporate America, however, she always dreamt of a more creative career that would give her the flexibility to spend more time with her young children. Out of the Blue was founded in 2007 after her leap-of-faith escape of the 9-to-5 life.

Jerin’s designs are often inspired by her childhood memories of playing with her grandmother’s old costume jewelry. She would spend hours playing with her beaded necklaces, funky rings, and big clip-on earrings. Much time is spent searching for the perfect nostalgic components to recreate the essence of the old jewelry she loved to play with as a child. Some favorite items used in the Out of the Blue line are old lockets, vintage Japanese floral cabochons, vintage rhinestone pieces and old metal tags. If it is rusted, tarnished or imperfect, then all the better…it just has more of a story to tell.

Jerin lives in her childhood town of Aransas Pass, TX with her hard-working husband Kevin and her children Shelby and Kolby, who always keep her on her toes. She loves estate sales, snuggling on the couch with her kids, and absolutely cannot properly start her day without a Sonic Drive-In Diet Coke.
