Hi there!

Pippi is just my nickname. My aunt had given me this nickname because of... actually, I don’t know the reason, just realized, I only know that it is about “Pippi Longstockings” although I don’t have any freckles or red hair. Anyway, I love my nickname. I also love Pippi Longstockings. And these are the reasons why I’ve decided to use “Pippi” as my name on Etsy.

My own name is Gülbeyaz, and the following is my tale:

I was born in Asenovgrad, Bulgaria. When I was 9, my family “decided” to move to Tukey, and we settled down in Bursa (one of the beautiful cities of Anatolia, famous for its mosques, tombs, fabrics, especially silks, Grand Bazaar, candied chestnut, etc.) where I live now.

I think that I am a born-knitter because I don’t remember when, where (most probably in Asenovgrad, beside my grandma) I first held knitting needles, or how I learnt to knit. However, I remember when I first held a hooked needle: I was a 5th grader, it was summer, I was in Bursa…
I had been knitting / crocheting for myself and my friends before Etsy. So, what brought me to Etsy? My very first cause is a friend. The second one is to earn money – Oops! Realism?! The last and main one is to have fun! Throughout the all time I have been on Etsy, I realized that knitting is the only ‘job’ I do not get tired, at all, while I’m doing it. I have the feeling that I can knit forever! :D

I L O V E yarns, words, greens, books, cats (no, unfortunately, I don’t have one; but, I am one! :D), George Orwell, science (especially reading and thinking about Nature of Science), ... and every kind of art (recently, Street art sweeps me off my feet!!!).
