Years ago, I met the man of my dreams, dropped everything and came to live with him in New York City. We currently reside in Manhattan on the 14th floor of a huge sky-rise building. It is extremely different and definitely exciting, but not quite the natural existence I’ve always known!
I often miss my wild, nature life, but at the same time I feel fulfilled and happy with my current life story. We run in central park everyday! thanks goodness this little square of nature existe in the middle of Manhattan!
My husband and I got married years ago and had our little girl. I decided to stay home with here and and devote my life to only what I LOVE... my husband, my girl, running and painting! And that brought me to etsy...
Running on the wall started with that decision. I took pieces of wood and painted them with trees, flowers, butterflies, and tons of birds, I started out with the desire to make practical pieces of art for the home. As I continued, I realized that I had many objects like running medals, jewelry, and keys all around our apartment that needed organization. Naturally, this need led to the creation of my key and jewelry rack collection as well as my beloved running and bibs display rack!
Another product idea came to me one year after we got married. I felt we needed a sign to celebrate the momentous occasion and created a personalized family sign. Before I knew it, friends and family wanted their own personalized signs, too. From that, I created the “Family Sign” collection. When our daughter (of course) wanted one for herself, I saw another idea for product creation that became the “Just For Children” collection.
Running on the wall allows me to “let my cowgirl spirit free while creating my little pieces of art.” My enjoyment in working with natural materials and incorporating the designs and elements of nature as well as my love for running comes across in every piece. Not only will you love your sign, but you will feel my love for the shabby, rustic qualities of the country lifestyle.
Imperfection is perfect!
As part of my commitment to and appreciation for nature, I have partnered with a little wood working shop located in my neighborhood. I recycle their extra pieces of wood into the signs you see in my shop.
I really enjoy seeing my little business grow! Etsy has given me a wonderful opportunity to combine my passion and craft, with both my past and present homes. My little Etsy business not only give me a terrific job but it also allows me more time to spend home with my beloved little family. I really do live in the best of both worlds!
