I was born in 1966 in Los Angeles and grew up in southern California. I moved to the Bay Area in 1989 and worked for 13 years doing graphic design and communications for a non-profit organization. After a brief stint working in the Kronos Quartet's organization, I went back to school earning degrees in Art Practice and Interdisciplinary Studies (emphasis on consciousness & social change).

I've been an artist and musician all my life, a photographer for 20 years and a painter for almost 10.

While painting has only recently emerged as my primary artistic vehicle, I bring 20 year of graphic, photographic, musical and political experience to my work. I still do graphic design to make ends meet. My paintings usually represent my own photographs, often depicting flattened visual spaces, such as walls or other "flat" surfaces...
