Sagehealer - Art for Meditation and Healing

After more than two years now on Etsy, I am truly happy to know that my art brings joy, peace, inspiration and healing to so many.

The journey to Etsy and creating these talismans I call Change Charms emerged mysteriously several years ago. At the end of an intense year-long class with cultural anthropologist Angeles Arrien, we received "click sticks". She encouraged us to use beads or personal marks to give power to the sticks. Several months later, after going into this beautiful bead store near my town, I started making the smudges (which I had used for years but never made) and combining them with the crystal & gemstone beads and charms I brought home. A few months later I was encouraged to present them on Etsy - and the journey continues in amazing ways. I finally have…

I finally have decorated my sticks with shells and sea glass, and have put beads and charms on my drum!

A bit more about me to help you understand what goes into this work: I have meditated for over 25 years, I am a trained, commissioned and dedicated spiritual healer & medium (NSAC), regularly take classes in guided imagery and shamanism (through Michael Harner's Foundation for Shamanic Studies and with other fine teachers), and professionally have worked in healthcare administration for a long time. I was a counselor with cancer patients and worked with geriatric clients for several years.

My precious rescue animal companions are a black Lab and a crazy smart black cat who loves to drink from faucets. We are grateful for our life together. A peregrine falcon lands on my deck - a great blue heron gives me a feather - a bay shark swims in circles at the surface when the boat I'm on docks - all true stories.

The herbs and flowers used in the smudges are gathered locally. I give spirit readings and healing sessions privately when requested. I've even been asked to smudge offices and the feedback has been superb!

I make custom pieces with special totem animals, your own beads, and health conditions - I am especially drawn to creating those for helping with cancer issues. And I am immensely gratified by the wonderful appreciation shared with me by so many of my customers - here's some samples -

"your choices are incredible~my endeavors indeed! You are so gifted at what you do! Feel very blessed that our paths have met."

"I sent it right off to [my friend] and he has received it...and they all love it. His wife told me that they are going to use the smudge stick on the last day of his radiation treatments which is some time next week... she was very moved by the talisman...I don't know how to thank you enough."

This is what the creating is all about for me - bringing joy, inspiration and healing where it is needed!

Namaste.
