I'm Samantha, a single mom to four rowdy boys. Eldest is 12, midkid is 7, the turkey is 3, and the bean is 13 months. I spent 5 years married to a wonderful and highly decorated soldier. We lost him last year. As a result I have taken up advocacy for PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury. I'm always happy to share my story to raise awareness of the tolls our troops and their families are paying.

I'm a craft-a-holic and often find myself saying "I bet I could make that." My mom taught me to sew in my teens and later I learned how to crochet and then knit. The clicking of needles and the whir of my sewing machine are comforting to me and I enjoy sharing this outlet with others. The kitchen is the heart of our home and you'll usually find cookies cooling on the counter or bread rising by the oven as the kids jostle for their turn to stir or taste test.

They also take an active roll in my crafting. They have pretty definite opinions on fabrics and colors. They love to pet the fluff and be couriers back and forth from the post office. We love to read, though I rarely get the chance beyond my Bible and a little Suess at bedtime. Our Fridays are spent around pizza and boardgames.

I owned and operated a cloth diaper store in Alaska and with recent events have not yet decided if I will be re-opening that business.
