My grandmother taught me to sew when I was a little girl. She gave me her scrap material to play with, and I would sew them together to make little books or doll clothes. She was my first sewing teacher, and I now realize just how valuable learning this skill was. It is not a craft that everyone has an opportunity to learn one on one.

Many times I use re-purposed materials like denim jeans, linen, or vintage fabrics in the items I sew . I try not to cut up vintage items that are in good condition, but will use pieces that would otherwise be of little value due to flaws.
I like to read, enjoy browsing flea markets and antique stores with my husband or best friend. I have a growing collection of vintage linens and baby clothes. I also work part time in a Christian book store. I have a wonderful husband and 2 lovely grown daughters.
I was a buyer on Etsy for a few years, and in November 2009 decided to open a shop. It is a wonderful creative outlet, giving people an alternative to buying mass produced commercial items. With Etsy, most of the time "one of a kind" is really that!
I am blessed to be part of CAST, Christian Artist Street Team :) and EtsyLushTeam, among others.
