How did I start making my Tattered recycled ruffle petticoat burlap runners.

When my daughter was about 10 (now 28) I was making much plainer runners. I added just a few layers of ruffle to the bottom. They were pretty and far as I could see they were detailed. WELL, Halloween came and my daughter wanted to be a princess. I really could not find anything "princessy"...lol I saw my runner hanging on the table and the idea came. If I pinned a bunch of torn ribbon to the ruffle, cut if off and attached it to her leggings she would be a unique pretty princess. Once I finished pinning all the ribbon onto the runner, I did not want to cut it. IT LOOKED SO PRETTY. Of course I did and she was a beautiful princess. After that I just started experimenting. Of course not with much burlap. I used a lot of stripes and rose fabrics. The burlap came from buying some to use in my garden. At the time I used birch branches as curtain rods. I wanted to hang something organic from them. So I made ruffled garland similar to the runners, but using some garden burlap. I tied it on with twine and they looked amazing. That is when I started using burlap in my runners and now I was making tattered garland. That is the fast story on how I came up with "petticoat" runners.

I am the originator of the RE-invented cherubs wearing crowns made from"salvaged and found" items and very specific jewelry.. You will know mine by the jewelry they wear. Always some form of a heart, keys and cross. The Cherub holding the snail is very special and the angel/ cherub holding the bird has such a deep meaning for me.. I thank the makers of this wonderful piece. The keys, heart and cross are my own type of signature which I have used for years. (C)

*I do get asked a lot if I can duplicate items or " where did a certain item go?
Most of my work, or items I find are ooak (one of a kind). Even the pieces that I do many of such as cherubs, runners, wings all have their own look. It is very rare that I can recreate pieces. Once an item is sold I can not guarantee another one will come along.
Please understand that I try very hard to give customers what they want. If it is ooak or so unique I may not be able to get another in my shop again once it's gone.

I strive for excellence, to make the best product possible for my customers. I am always working on improving my custom paints and faux treatments. My items have been seen in blogs, articles and other featured pieces. From my divine cherubs (signature pieces), handmade runners, and display boxes, to beautiful recycled ideas. I am inspired by French Nordic and French Santos designs . I love to find salvaged objects and turn them into something lovely to display . To make a beautiful piece from an item that would turn up in a landfill is a sweet feeling. If I can be earth friendly with my work that just makes what I do even better.

My color choices range from pretty shabby cottage pastels to chalky whites, grays and taupes. I try to create colors that would compliment any home.

I hope you enjoy what you see here. For 2014 I have great plans and many new ideas. My goal is give my customers something that will be in their homes for a long time. Pieces that are classic but will always feel fresh.
