My name is Shielagh Tacey. I was born in Leicester and now live and work in Glasgow, Scotland, where I hand weave things including scarves, shawls and cushions using my wooden, Schacht Baby Wolf loom.

I studied Visual Communication (Illustration) at The Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 2006 with BA(Hons)Design First Class. I am also a qualified primary school teacher and enjoy using my skills working with local community arts organisations and schools in Glasgow.

I began weaving in 2008 when I visited my Aunt, Fran Curran at the Hartford Artisans Weaving Center in New England, USA. She is an extremely talented handweaver and kindly taught me the basics of weaving during my stay.
