About

Our working alpaca farm is family owned and run. I am Jodi, the herdmistress and I am here to serve (just ask the pacas!) I used to sell all the fleece from our animals just to recoup the cost of their keep. Though we have always appreciated these wonderful animals as investments (they put our three kids through college) I am only recently getting into fiber crafts and it's as addictive as the animals themselves are! My primary material is alpaca fleece. What I don't have the time to hand card myself I have processed into roving and yarn at a local family owned mill. They are fairly small scale and I wait for months to get my finished product back but it's well worth the wait. Alpacas are the most eco-friendly livestock going. They have manure piles rather than dirtying an entire pasture. They eat hay and a small amount of custom milled grain. Because their end product is fleece we love the fact that we don't have to kill the animal to reap it's rewards. I've known since starting in alpacas that I'll ALWAYS have alpacas, but now I know I'll always make product from their fleece.
