Sometimes when life gets you down you need to smash something...that's how my life as an artist began. When I lost my mother to lung cancer in 2003 I went to a mosaic art class with my sis-in-law and I found my therapy. Smashing plates and stuff helped me get through a tough time in my life. When my marriage fell to pieces and I was an emotional mess going through my divorce, I smashed my wedding cake topper...then made some really therapeutic art. Oh it felt good!
My art is an expression of my life, I pour myself into each piece without holding back. Life is meant to be enjoyed and I have so much gratitude to be able to pursue my art career as Smashgirl.
I'm a recycling nut so I love to re-use old things. Saving the planet in my own little way :)
I'm a proud alumni of RAW Artists www.rawartists.org and forever grateful to Heidi Luerra, CEO and founder who helped open so many doors for me…
