Why smidgebox? Those who know my husband would say that he is the man of a thousand nicknames. Smidgebox is just one of the many he has called me since we met 12 years ago. Somehow, this one stuck in my head!
I started Smidgebox Designs for many reasons, but mainly to fulfill my creative needs + to enable me to stay home to look after my growing family.
I live on the west coast of Canada in beautiful north vancouver, where I am lucky to be surrounded by some of the most stunning landscapes in the world. Climb a mountain, roam the beach, hike though a forest, and play in the lush green grass, all in one glorious day.

I am trained as an architectural draftsperson, and love all aspects of design. If I had three more lives to live, I would be a fashion designer, an architect, and a stationery designer [maybe still to come!]. My ten-year-plan includes a dream to open a brick-and-mortar lifestyle shop with one of my best girlfriends. I'll keep you posted ;)

My mom taught me to sew as a child, and it has been an on-off love affair ever since. My first child was born 6 years ago, and I renewed my interest in the craft + haven't looked back. I am totally head-over-heels for today's fabrics and textiles, and love coming up with new ways to showcase the amazing prints + designs.
