When I was six, my father made me a crystal ring with a beautiful deep red ruby in it. Of course it wasn’t really crystal - it was Perspex which he had carved, and the stone wasn’t really a ruby but red glass, but to me it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen – and it was mine! I still have it. And that is where my love of jewellery making came from.
Years later I learned silver smithing, and later beading and then fine silver. I just love playing with ‘pretty’ things!
What I particularly love about fine silver is the scope – it seems never ending. It’s true it is more expensive than sterling, but the beauty and ‘silveriness’ that it gives is more than worth it.

Info re hallmarking:

British law states that any item of silver weighing over 7.78 grams must be hallmarked by one of the four assay offices in the UK to ensure quality of the precious metal content. Items weighing over this have therefore been hallmarked by the London assay office with their mark plus my own sponsor mark. See listings for details of which items are hallmarked.

Good Faith
