Things That Make Scents launched with our 100% OhSoy! soy candle line online in 2003 after I transformed my candle-making hobby into a career. My name is Janine and I have been pouring soy candles since 2002.
As a longtime candle aficionado, I became frustrated with the soot stains paraffin candles left on my ceiling and cabinets. After doing much research, I discovered that soybean wax candles were a cleaner, healthier alternative with an added bonus: soy wax candles are more cost-effective than their petroleum-based paraffin counterparts.
I have expanded Things That Make Scents to include both retail and wholesale soy candles & handmade soaps as well as other locally handmade items and unique gifts. We create every item by hand with painstaking attention to quality and detail.
