About

I love to draw, read, and create, and it's my goal in life is to combine all three as much as possible. I try to exercise my creativity in my drawings and illustrations, in addition to apparel design.

I hope my work makes this world a bit of a better place by allowing others to proudly and easily express their neerdiness, love for literature, fashion or what have you. Furthermore, I regularly take portions of my profit and donate it, and I'm happy that I am able to employ some wonderful people to help with the tasks of running my shop. We are all proud to have a product that is 100% American made. I couldn't do any of this without the amazing support and help of my new husband, Chris.

I am originally from Greenville, SC, my educational background comes from studying fine art at Anderson University and then in New York City where I received a BFA in Fashion Design from Pratt Institute. While attending school, in addition to winning awards and design contests at Pratt, my designs were also featured on MTV Live and Women's Wear Daily. Now I'm currently rooted in Portland, OR where I still dabble in fashion and illustration.

In addition to Etsy, I'm also a yoga instructor and I can't recommend it enough. Lately I've been able to volunteer time teaching to high schoolers at my church and my latest adventure is responding to the call to be trained & certified in Holy Yoga.

In what little free time I have I’m either reading, enjoying the great Northwest, playing video games, cooking, or trying to convert what was my husband's bachelor pad into a livable space. Most often these activities typically include coffee in some way, shape, or form.

I like to think I was destined to create my storiarts scarves- I was born in 1984 (George Orwell anyone?), I have always devoured books, I once worked in a library, put an s in front of my name and you get "story," there is a sci fi label called Tor, and I'm now married to a talented writer whose family is related through marriage to Jane Austen. Life is funny and God's plans are the best.

If you are even thinking about copying my original product design, be aware that we will find you, and you will hear from our lawyers because it is infringing upon my intellectual property & rights. Please also note that it's just sad you can't come up with your own idea but have to copy others. So yeah, good luck knowing that. ;)
