Tamara do Carmo Carvalho's Profile
I come from Brazil, but since 1987 I've been living in Sardinia - Italy Both places give me a lot of inspiration to create.
My first love was weaving, and then I explored different materials and ways of expression.
Some years ago I discovered an interesting material, the trunk of a cactus called "prickly pear", it grows in Sardinia, all over the island, in September it offers sweet orange fruit.
Who could imagine that under that prickly green skin hides an intricate woody weave.
It is a very interesting material, I like to use it with recycled paper (recycled by myself) resin , metal and brasilian stones.
I'm sure the best is yet to come.
I hope you enjoy it.
