My husband and I have a small frame business selling diploma frames to small colleges and universities. We have a lot of leftover mat board cut from the insides of the frames that end up as garbage because they are too small to use. So I was at the shop one day thinking, “there's gotta be something I can do with these inside pieces...”

And voila! OK, so not so much 'voila' as trying ideas 1 thru 42 and the 43rd actually worked!

Not only do I enjoy the work, I feel good about not sending all of these perfect good scraps of mat board into the landfill!

Since most of the materials I work with are destined for the trash, I see it as a way of "upcycling". I love to scrapbook, read, and craft in my spare time...which I don't seem to have much of these days!
