My name is Joy, as you could probably guess from my brand name. My chosen art form is crochet. I have been crocheting for 17 years. At least that is my definition of what I do, my father describes it as anger management.

I took, maybe 3, Granny Square crochet lessons when I was about 11 years of age and then did not pick up a hook again for 7 years. While I was a stage manager one Christmas production it became apparent that I had two choices, find an outlet for my frustration or kill my director. Well my director lived and is still a valuable part of my life and I crocheted two granny square baby blankets in a week. I soon got sick of the granny square and started to teach myself to read new stitches. I found that crochet came naturally to me. It captured my imagination and I wanted to make more of it. The ironic thing about my crochet is that I despised geometry as a mathmatical discipline and now I think in it. You never know what your going to use later in life.

I came to Etsy because all my friends told me to sell my stuff. So here I am. The items in my Etsy shop are mostly my design. I sometimes work from a pattern but the item is completely hand made. What makes my shop unique is the fact that I work with thread as much as I work with yarn. I enjoy the detail thread brings to a project. Just look at the baby booties it can make. But there is nothing like a fun and funky crochet hat in the winter. You really do need both.

My Crochet Philosopy: Crochet is a practical art. Just because we can crochet toilet paper covers does not mean we should. (unless thier sushi rolls)

My Inspiration: Modern Irish Lace, the color wheel, Disney, my muses Rashelley & Anna.
