Shirley Lips' Profile

About

I have been a practicing quilter and teacher for more than 25 years. Originally from Wisconsin, my profession as a high school counselor took me to Germany for 21 years.

Retirement took us to Eastern Tennessee in 2004 and I have continued to be very involved in the quilting community. Being the lead teacher on a quilting cruise, organizing and teaching at an annual quilting retreat, developing my pattern line, teaching at area quilt shops and making quilts now fill my days.

And now my husband, Heinz, has joined me in this creative venture. Heinz makes one-of-a-kind bowls, vases, and covered containers on his lathe. Being an artist, each piece is unique and lovely; he has a knack for bringing out the natural beauty of the wood.
