Samantha Callahan's work balances subjects of the human body, nature, and medicine primarily through painting on canvas or wood, digital art, or papercut. She focuses on female health, body issues, chronic pain and mortality by the exploration of body modification, herbal healing and symbolism. Portraying the contrast between pain and healing is a consistent element in her work.
