Mandy Behrens' Profile
I am a self-taught artist living with my family in Seattle. I have an affinity for the old ways and hope to inspire my daughters to follow their creative dreams just as my mom did for me.
Some of my favorite gifts to give are art supplies. I wish I was a better cook. My first "published" artwork was a yearbook cover I drew in 4th grade. I put my marketing career on hold to start a family. And I've built a house from the ground up--a four square bungalow with built-ins, two refinished antique claw foot tubs, push-button switches, and period lighting. These are just a few things about me.
When creating my shop name I immediately thought of my great-grandparents and their parents who homesteaded in the early 1900s on the prairies of Kansas, Colorado, and New Mexico. The name "weathered silo" pays tribute to my ancestor's resilience and resourceful ways of living...
