Hello art lover,

I am primarily a self-taught jewelry designer/artisan. My work grew out of my own compulsion for jewelry, and lots of it, yet the lack of funds to purchase enough to quiet the jewelry monster within. I basically began with simple stringing of multitudes of beads for my own adorning. Then, some six years ago after developping physical challenges which kept me from more physically active outlets, beading became a more serious creative outlet for me. So, then I began to investigate and refine many new techniques. Soon friends and coworkers started commenting on my new adornments and asking me to design pieces for them. I became excited upon discovering my own talented eye for color and design as I repeatedly came up with unique creations that pleased and awed my new fans.

Also, as a long-time visitor to a harbor islands national park, my fascination with beach findings as a possible craft medium began to take hold, so I started researching techniques for using sea glass in my designs. I then signed up for an intensive course on 'Wirework" with Kathleen Bolan, nationally acclaimed wire artist, and was off and running. I soon had 4 collections of jewelry designs: Gems and Crystals, Ocean Collection, Wirework, and a Watch Collection.

Currently, it is difficult to classify my pieces by collection as my passion for wireworking seems to have trickled over into so much of my work. And, my compulsion to create only one-of-a-kind pieces has led me to so much experimentation including combining semi-precious with found and costume materials, gems with wire pieces, sea glass with stained glass,etc.etc.

In this shop I now present my Sea Glass Designs (those shown for sale in photos plus bookmarks, rings, bracelets,and pendants); what I now call the "Wire n Whimsies' Collection ( wirey, bold, colorful, funky creations),and a line I call,'Pearls, Pearls, Pearls'. In addition, I'll be showing pieces from the Gems/Crystals, Watches, and Sterling Sensations collections.
