Design and artistic endeavors have always seemed to come naturally to me. In fact, I feel compelled to create; fortunately I also love it. I've studied calligraphy for 25+ years with both national and international calligraphers and artists. For 10+ years I was calligrapher to the Governor's Office of the State of North Carolina.

Bookbinding seemed a natural progression because one can do only so many things to hang on the wall. Most of my books are journals or artists books combining mixed media art and calligraphy. After being given a huge stash of upholstery fabrics, for a time, I designed and made purses and handbags.
