Bio

I am Michael, a 30-year-old girl. (Yes, a girl despite name and age. I suspect I'll always think of myself as a girl, even if I live to be 90.)

I've always had an interest in artistic self-expression. I spent my childhood as a queen of Crayola and my teen years as a starry-eyed scribbler of fiction. (Maybe someday I'll manage to merge the two interests into children's books, which I dearly love.) As an adult, I've dabbled in a variety of media.

A few years ago, my husband happened upon polymer clay. I was hesitant (silly me!), but he persisted, and I'm so glad he did.

Playing around with a few blocks of clay somehow led to an all-consuming passion. I love the versatility of the material; it can do almost anything! It's wonderful to know that, as much as I've done with polymer clay so far, there are still many more avenues left to explore.

I live on the Alabama Gulf Coast with my wonderful husband and a black-and-white cocker spaniel named Molly and an energetic Eskie named Trixie.

I have a second Etsy shop-- the ButtonBakery-- where I sell handmade polymer clay buttons and other sewing-related goods:

A few things I love-- anything by L.M. Montgomery, the moon, chokers, vintage posters and crate labels, forest walks, singing along with a great song, Jane Eyre, Runts candies, sunsets, clouds, Amelie, dangly earrings, velvet ribbon, chocolate, sparkly jewelry, pizza, Christmas decorations, Victorian styles, retro fonts, and the list goes on!
