coffeedrinker's Profile

Bio

i am a coffee drinker, bookbinder, quilter & creature maker in providence, RI. by day i am the conservation technician in a rare books library making boxes for strange objects ranging from cuneiform clay tablets to artists’ books. sometimes i gets to vacuum mold off of 16th century bibles & turn the pages of the Audubon elephant folios. at night i sew in a little studio in my apartment where i've lived for over 5 years & have therefore gathered an alarming amount of stuff. lately i've been focusing on my art quilts, i also sew many things out of vinyl such as bags, purses & wrist cuffs and occasionally make strange creatures with too many arms & extra heads. there are not nearly enough hours in the day to make everything i dream up, but luckily i don't sleep very much.

i sew on a 50’s avocado green Singer, a 60’s Necchi Lydia & a 70's Pfaff. i collect typewriters, tiny precision rulers, fabric, books, feathers, 50's dishes & 70's board games. i steal screenprinted posters, kill houseplants & am terrible about returning emails.
