And Kat's splendiferous altered books are inspirations to all poetically minded connoisseurs. Some artists selfishly hug their sources to their bony poitrines, but Kat's big-hearted sharing of the fruits of her labors among the vintage art mines is truly one-of-a-kind in the annals of collaborative mixed-media art. Others don't realize that castles made of sand fall into the sea eventually. Kat replenishes her creativity by virtually giving away the diamonds she unearths. Although essentially cut off from civilization in the chilly climes of Churchill Manitoba, Kat's work has become a cultural touchstone, not only in her community, but to all people of Albanian and Inuit descent.
